I have worked in publishing and public relations for the past ten years, working for a variety of titles from daily and weekly to monthly magazines, managing editorial online content from breaking daily news to creating digital titles, producing newsletters and managing a growing social media presence.

I have worked in a range of editorial and communications roles specialising in public affairs and press liaison having worked on both sides of the fence in both journalism and PR. My portfolio is divided into Editorial and Communications sections to reflect this and to illustrate the close link between the two disciplines to ensure editorial values are met be it through news reporting, copy writing, advertorials, ghost writing or corporate marketing material.

After graduating in 2000 from Plymouth University with a BSc in Politics and Sociology I went on to study for an MA in Multimedia Journalism at Bournemouth University. This was the first course in the country to specialise in online news training, and I have been working in online technologies ever since. I enjoy getting involved in new projects and have worked in roles spanning specialist news including medical, scientific and business news for the online market, writing news and features from legal news to construction, healthcare to quantum physics, and beyond...

Technically I have a proven track record of being able to adapt new online multimedia resources quickly and take on new responsibilities and projects, from managing redesigns and project managing migrations to changing media strategies to incorporate social media in today's world of online immediate news coverage.

As a journalist and working in communications and PR it has been very rewarding in particular working in the legal, construction and property sectors due to my personal interest and experience in the sector. Likewise I am dedicated to the incorporation of a more socially responsible sustainable future and have been lucky enough to work in this sector too in a b2b environment.
