As a news and features editor for online, print and digital products, I have edited and commissioned for a variety of publications and for a range of audiences. In this section you can browse examples of magazine layout, specialist titles that I have written or commissioned copy for, and samples of newsletters and supplements.
I have written for a diverse selection of titles that have been subscriber, controlled circulation and member magazines for trade, business to business (b2b), consumer, member and professional development audiences. I have also carried out copywriting and produced marketing materials and advertorials which can be seen in the Communications section.
I have worked for a diverse range of specialist, trade, consumer and b2b publishing houses; Faversham House, Future Publishing, IOP Publishing, LexisNexis Butterworths, News International, Northcliffe Media, and Trinity Mirror. Working in these challenging and fast-paced environments has been a steep and rewarding learning curve.
I have been able to turn my hand to a range of subjects throughout my career, including (but not limited to) writing breaking news, for online, print and radio newsrooms, on healthcare, finance, legal news (in particular dispute resolution, property and landlord and tenant issues), environmental news, the European Union, property, construction and building services, energy news including alternative sources of power such as fuel cells, photovoltaic and geothermal power, criminal law, entertainment and the theatre, consumer affairs, tax law, technology, gadgets and games consoles, quantum physics for the prestigious Cern Courier covering the development of the Large Hadron Collider, fiber optics, led technology and many more.
I
have also been involved in a range of research and lobbying tasks as well as editing books for publication, such as the recent Guide to Employment from B&ES and the forthcoming Guide to TUPE. |
